Why this wedge

The fastest credible path from impact to revenue.

Clean cooking sits at the intersection of an immediate household benefit, a globally recognised carbon methodology, and a deep distributor footprint we already operate.

Buyer demand is real

Corporates from tech, retail, and consumer goods are actively contracting cookstove credits in East Africa today.

Methodology is mature

Gold Standard and Verra cookstove methodologies are well established with auditor depth and registry liquidity.

Health upside is huge

Indoor-air pollution causes hundreds of thousands of premature deaths annually in sub-Saharan Africa.

Distribution exists

Mapato Max already runs the distributor network — proximity becomes verification.

The flow

From household to registry, audited end-to-end.

  1. 01

    Household enrolment

Verified households receive modern stoves through the Mapato Max distributor network. Identity, location, and baseline cooking patterns recorded.

  2. 02

    Usage telemetry

Stove-use sensors and periodic field surveys log fuel switching, hours of use, and household composition.

  3. 03

    Emission reductions

Methodology-aligned (Gold Standard / Verra) tCO₂e calculation per household, indexed to displaced biomass.

  4. 04

    Issuance & sale

Credits issued to a registered project account and sold to corporate buyers under forward or spot agreements.

  5. 05

    Margin recovery

Carbon revenue flows back through the Mapato Max fund — covering stove cost, distributor margin, and member dividend.

  • Household-level dashboards: families served, fuel switched, emissions avoided.
